running issue

thanks for the link, got a multimeter so going to check the wiring system using this guide. i noticed in the guide it says you can check the electrolyte levels in the battery as an indication that the rectifier is not working correctly. Will i have to disconnect and remove the battery to check the levels or is it safe to do so with the battery terminals connected. Also does anyone have any ideas where i might be able to get a suitable bit of replacement pipe for my vacuum pipe. looks ok but like u say, best replacing it whilst im there as it does look a bit old.

Do not check the electrolyte level, there is no liquid electrolyte in a sealed lead acid battery, which is the type normally fitted to an NC30.

If your bike simply stops without warning then it more likely IMO to be electrical, a fuel problem would result in a slower loss of power. Might also be worth checking the ignition fuse, ignition switch and run/stop switch. A problem with any of them will interrupt power to the ignition system.

All sorted, turns out it was the original suggestion of the vacuum pipe. Cheers for the helpful advice, wouldn't of know where to start. ordered a vac pipe from rick o and it was in my hands in less than 48hrs, spot on!
