Re: Nc 35 headlight problem
The headlights and horn share a earth feed so my guessing is your've a loose/broken wire up behind the clocks somewhere

Re: Nc 35 headlight problem
Whole bike shares common earth in the loom, any other electrical functions go missing? So could be loom fault or horn fault is co-incident and headlight fuse intermittent or intermittent engine start button. Do you have headlights on with ignition switch on? Place bike on side-stand, ignition switch on and wiggle engine start button, do headlights go on and off?

Re: Nc 35 headlight problem
What i meant by sharing an earth feed is that the headlights and horn will be on the same branch of the earth feed so the break will be before the feed splits off to horn and lights

I've give even money on the connector under the tank for the switchgear being corroded. Most of the gremlins I've had that haven't been the charging system have been one of these getting crap in them.

Re: Nc 35 headlight problem
Sounds like the "headlight off while engine is cranking" switch contacts located in the start switch are the issue. Might be fixed by simple dis-assembly and a clean, watch out for small springs escaping, or even just a spray of your favorite contact leaner, but dis-assembly would be my preferred option.
