RVF 600RR Fork Swap?

Post by ludacris »

Just wondering if anyone has done a fork swap on the RVF with 600rr forks or has any info on how to go about it? Namely forks from the RR5 and later

Work is over for the year and I'm looking at starting a new RVF project that I've been willing myself to do.

Any info and links would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Venom Ken's is a 30 not a 35. I believe the 35 is a straight bolt on.

no its not a direct bolt on as the 600rr has 48mm upper as opposed to the RVF's 50mm upper

Upper? You mean upper triple tree? I'm talking about forks, triples, wheels, clipons, brakes. Everything. I know it bolted right up to my 29.

IIRC you want the upto 07 forks and yokes as the offset is closer to the NC's

yeh I meant the top triple clamp diameters and the top section of the fork outers also.

sorry, I didn't realise that was what you were hinting to...I'm not sure that a complete front end would fit straight on using the 600rr triples otherwise I don't see why Mike at G-Force would go to the trouble of fabbing up custom triples

Yes. You can buy the 07 and up triples and they will plug straight into the 35..... Mike at G-Force did that because he was mounting them to a NC30 not 35. The headstock is different. The NC29 (mine) and the 35 (I have one too) and the 07 and up CBR600RR and I believe 05-06 CBR600RR triples all mount straight on. Just mark your forks prior to so you keep the height the same.
