NC30 wont start :(
hey guys wondering if you can help me, for some reason my NC30 89 model wont start all of a sudden, me and my brother checked and cleaned the carbs, and also the jets and cleaned them aswel, and finally changed the vacuum hose, the bike now tries to start up but slightly splutters and also backfires when trying to start, this showing fuel is going through, but the bike still wont start, the only thing it can be is the spark plugs, if anyone has any other ideas please let me know! gonna check the spark plugs and change them in a few hours, will give an update, any help will be much appreciated

Could be plugs, ive killed a brand new set of plugs before by flooding them. Had similar symtoms as youself when trying to start it

Re: NC30 wont start :(
hey you seem to know a lot :) i seen a post with NC30 problem, something about the coils and stuff? if i change my spark plugs and check wires and my nc30 still wont start, would i have to replace coils? if so you got a rough idea of how much it would be, because its similar to that other guys post, over winter it was locked up in my garage, and i went to go out and wouldnt start, like i said ive checked everything apart from spark plugs, gonna check them soon, if that doesnt work any idea mate?Drunkn Munky wrote:Could be plugs, ive killed a brand new set of plugs before by flooding them. Get them new plugs in and try it, like i said ive killed a brand new set of plugs before and messed about for days checking and refitting everything else only to find it was the plugs
If it doesnt want to play ball with the new plugs in dont keep going and flood the engine or you risk killing the new plugs, its easily done. The coils can be checked in a way. If you havent already get youtself a haynes manual and read up on checking your electrical system, if your coils are shot i wouldnt have thought they will cost much to replace but my moneys on the plugs.

Re: NC30 wont start :(
You can kill the plugs just by using throttle when starting them...
Fit the new plugs, and start it using full choke and NO throttle.
Odds are it will fire up straight away.
