NC29 Brake & Front Fork Upgrades???
I've got a 1992 RR-N NC29 - What mods have you done to upgrade the brakes and/or forks on your NC29?
Which other parts bolt straight on?
Which brake calipers? Fireblade? CBR600?
Are the stock NC29 forks only adjustable for preload?
Do people use NC30 forks? do they have more adjustment?
Thanks in advance.
Dom

get a set of braided lines on with new oil and the brakes are great, a rebuild on the forks with better springs to match your weight and 15w fork oil and even uprated valves transform the front end

Hi,
I've been thinking about getting some Galfer Waves. Is the braking much improved over standard brake discs?
Thx

yes they do... but much better if you change your pads too.

Re: NC29 Brake & Front Fork Upgrades???
NC35 complete USD front end on the girlfriends NC29 !

Not the most straightforward of tasks but improved the brakes no end.
Was also pleased to say that once we dialled in the preload/rebound over a couple of runs up and down a familiar piece of tarmac the handling remained as per the original CBR which was sweet anyway, as some conversions can totally change the handling of a bike.
There are other upgrades available the simplest of which is to replace the NC29 sliders (fork bottoms) with NC30 sliders and calipers, also you will need the master cylinder off the NC30 this is a good cheap and easy upgrade which will not affect the handling of the bike but improve the brakes no end.
Finally you can buy adaptor plates and fit pretty much anything you like caliper wise just make sure the master cylinder is fitted to suit.
I cant comment on the difference in discs as yet as we havent changed from stock honda kit but I would be interested to see what some of the others on here have to say about the different brands available, she really likes the wavy discs but I'm not sure of the improvement for the amount of spend, is it just a 'looks' thing ????
