by clutch diode do you mean the little black switch that is attached to the lever?
if so davidsilver spares sale them new, they dont cost much

can some 1 tell me what this is for and if i actually need 1? as i have got ISR levers so there is no longer a place for this switch to be attached, does it have to be used? what happens if i dont use it?
Sorry for thread hi-jack

Cheers
shaun

I think the diode is a small block thing on the wiring loom - not far along from the rec/reg towards the back of the bike?

If it's on the brake lever,then it's a a brake light switch.

are you referring to the clutch switch which is part of the safety circuit, meaning you can't start the bike if in gear unless the clutch lever is pulled in.

don't need it for MOT.

Just means you won't be able to start the bike in gear, even if you pull the clutch in. (unless its been bypassed) then you'll be able to start it in gear even without the clutch pulled in (bad)
