Twin rear light

Post by Variablevalves suck »

Thought id post a few pictures of my rear light.
uses a motrax led light that cost about £20
Image
Remve the clear plastic lens
Image
Image
Remove original wires, bit of work with the Dremil & drill two holes
Image
Fit led light
Image
Refit original lens (just fits)
Image
Light back on the bike
This stops the chance of riding at night with no rear light due to one buld blowing.

Hey, that's pretty cool and very nicely done! It even looks like factory made! 8-)
I quite like the idea of having 2 rear lights too! :?
20 quid huh?... Did you 'butcher' any bits of the OE rear light at all (other that removing the wires), or did you simply drill the 2 holes and 'banged' the motrax unit on?
When the mind is relaxed, the body will go faster! 8-)

Hi speedy
you have to butcher the original light if you look at picture 3 and compare it to your own rear light you will see the bits i ground out, you also rip the original wiring out and thread the motrax wires through the original hole, i have wired these into the scrap original wiring so i can use the connector on the original wiring loom, it only fits by removing the clear lense of the motrax light but then gives a perfect fit.

It all works and being led will use less wattage and last for ever.
