Or, if too expensive, go halfs with someone on a pair of Angel Eyes:-

For less money, you could try using relays, and wire the headlight directly to the battery (via the relays, which are also wired to the switch) using good thick wire. This is only of any use if you're seeing a lower current at the headlight than at the battery/regulator.

Is the Xenon kit pictured above also what's known as HID? I hear they offer great illumination, but they're pricey, require a ballast, and some of the kits only have one beam (no high/low activation).

that pic is of a HID alright, and as tristan says needs a ballast (which is the big black box you see in the pic). on a naked bike i am sure that will be had to hide.
have you tried the sort of phillips brillance that halfords offer. i know on the VFR the jap spec bulbs are lower than UK soec bulbs so the VFR owners cant just stick the bulbs from halfords in. anyone know if its the same with the CB/SF ?

Yeah an aftermarket bulb in a cb makes the headlight so much better.

I've had the original bulb in there since 1995 (still works) but it was quite dim.

So i thought I would try another bulb to see the difference.

MAJOR CHANGE! - I could actually see, and its a whiter light too.

I bought a twin pack of Osram - Silverstar bulbs 60/55 H4
Roadlegal 'E' marked.
£15 ish with postage. - for 2 bulbs.

Then I've also got a Phillips Bluevision (Xenon effect) bulb to try yet.

I have sourced a supplier who can do a zenon hid kit for £44 which includes a mini balast bulb + wiring harness
a bit more expensive than a better bulb but loads better just got to check out compatablity with one of the sparkys at work.

should get me a few more brownie points with the girlfriend :D

it all started to go wrong when i sourced a full one off titanium system for her bike after that i could not help myself tinkering with it to make it just how she wanted it

her bike is nearly done just want to get some pazzo style levers and a nice set of bars + the seat is going to get a makeover

so its a HID kit you got then, from china?

those wheels are definatly a center point for the bike , well matched with the tank decal. exhaust system does look ace though.

the GF first bike was chinese and i couldnt fault it, brilliant little bike she passed her test on it had it for a year and sold it for pretty much what it owed her!
