Just emailed that to the supplier. He seems quite cooperative so there is a chance to get the plates replaced.
The pain is I will need to do the work again, get another gasket and centre nut...

Hi there,

Just to let you know I have finally received the right plates. Installed last night and tested this morning.
The clutch feels so much better. ALMOST no drag... Almost because I've noticed that there is a little drag when engine is warmed up. I think it might be the oil... Some brands cause clutch drag right? I'm running on some crap oil (new but not a good brand)
Can you guys confirm what is the best oil I could use on this bike (NC35) I guess it's probably too old to run on full synthetic? Let me know if you can so I could sort this bike out.

Yeah stay away from full synthetic, it can make your clutch slip.

Plenty of good oils to choose from.

Full synthetic oil will only make your clutch slip if it contains a viscosity stabiliser and other such additives. These oil are designed generally for car engines or where a wet clutch is not used.

Bike specific FS oil should not contain these additives. I always buy FS Castrol R4 superbike oil for anything I care about and have used it in a few bikes with no ill effects. It does however cost a lot of bread. Castrol's semi synthetic 10W40 should be fine for normal use.
