Ohlins shock

Post by saltysealion »

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my OEM shock with an ohlins shock. Is someone able to recommend a model that would suit the RVF without or with very little modifications?

CBR900RR Ohlins shock is what you want but you would might need to modify the length

Mecadata.com or ebay mecadata-france claim to have Ohlins to fit an NC30. Worth considering if it comes valved and sprung to suit.

indeed.

i had an rc30 shock that was adjusted to suit the nc30, worked rather well too, far better than i could have asked of it.

The stock RC30 shock is actually shorter than the NC30 one. As stated above, the shock that you need is a modified Fireblade unit - KAIS have the spec and will build it for you.

(I don`t know if Timon has the same experience but on my Ohlins they have craftily ground off the original part number from the shock body so you can`t tell which `blade shock it`s based on...)
