Clutch issue?

Post by manicguitarist » Wed Jul 20, 2016 9:35 am

For info - bike is running fine, accelerates fine - no slippage, gears change fine.

That all said, the clutch feels odd. It feels like the lever isn't springing back fully, it feels "mushy" when I pull it in - it disengages ok - but, especially when engine hot, it just feels odd.

Not a lot of symptoms to work with, but any suggestions?

it's just an inner cable inside a outer cable - could oil the cable (might be feeling rough), could remove the infill panel on the LHS where you can see the clutch cable attach - maybe it needs cable adjustment? (should be able to see at what point of the lever pull the mechanism starts to move

I will check that out.
It is a new clutch cable - because I felt the issue coming on and thought it was the clutch cable. I didn't oil the cable though...just replace it.

You could try checking the operation of the arm on the cover that works the pushrod an accumulation of old chain lube gunge grit possibly ?
