Carb cleaning

Right. No matter how many times I clean them out its not good enough. Bike had been sat since 1999. Where is the best place to get the carbs cleaned properly?

Where are you located? That may help to advise you into the best direction. I am confident that members on here will show you there. Or buy yourself a ultrasonic cleaner+liquids for DIY with manual.

Not a bad idea at looking into a cleaner. Would use it a lot. I am in west sussex. Uk :)

some heavy duyu carb cleaner but you must blow the passages out with high pressure compressed air to clear the stuff out.

prooper heavy duty carb cleaner will work, but proper stuff (i.e. professional cleaner) but it will eat the rubber diaphrams and seals almost instantly so you have to fully strip the cabrs to use it, also contains a lot of MEK and other natsty stuff.

Probaby hard to get anyway so ultrasonic cleaning is probably the easiest way.

In your ultrasonic cleaner, use the following recipe:

Hot Water - 4 cups
Fairy Liquid - 1 tablespoon
Vineger - 1 cup
Salt - 1 tablespoon

Cook for as long as necessary, and a VERY good rinse out afterwards. Better than ANY commercial cleaner I've tried...

Probably a good idea you accept all your jets, etc. are shagged so remove the lot before cooking.

Take lemon juice, put carbs and juice in a container and let it boil.

Lemon juice eats all the grime. But dont do it for too long.
