Re: Ive finally got a stroker!
Yea unless I'm mistaken the crank seals from all models are officially NLA but quite a few people can still source them. I did search David silvers and cmsnl to check and they say the same. I got the estimate of £1500 from the guys who run GT motorcycles and it looks like they can source crank bearings and seals too so when the time comes the engine will go to them for a refresh.
Does anyone have experience using top end rebuild kits from PJ engineering? They list one for the NSR and the price is reasonable.

The genuine Honda pistons and rings are still available and are not too costly. If I was going to the hassle of a top end refresh, I would go Honda all the way.

If you're paying someone to build it then yes I can see how you might get there. I was thinking you were going to do it yourself, it works out a lot cheaper, which means more money to spend on other aspects of the bike...

Yea I will be doing most of the work myself, the crank will be sent away to have all the bearings etc fitted though.

Yea they are the only guys id trust to do it properly tbh, I'm hoping that won't be for a while yet though. In the meantime I'll get the top end done and hopefully enjoy riding it.
