2TK EXUP control unit - repair
Has anyone ever had their EXUP control unit repaired? (It sits under the EXUP pulley, in front of the rear light). The one on my 2TK only works when held tightly in my hand so there appears to be a broken circuit on the board. If anyone knows of a firm that can repair these units, please let me know. Is BDK worth a try?
Alternatively, are there any 2TK owner on the forum with a spare working unit that I could buy?
The part number is 2TK 85830 00 - I don't know if the 3EN models used this unit or had their own specific 3EN unit - perhaps someone can confirm this point also as it would help me broaden my search.
Thanks very much

3EN2 servo is 3FH-85850-00 so must differ in some way.

Re: 2TK EXUP control unit - repair
The SAC/SUC Usa models use the 3FH- unit
The 2TK unit appears model specific.
This may be more down to the casing fixing position, on its "back" at the very rear of the subframe on the 2TK;
as opposed to "upright" on the side of the 3 EN series/ SUC-SAC models..
The Exup servos are often stripped to replace the plastic operating gears ; so perhaps this option should be investigated to ascertain if a repair/replacement of the circuitry is possible.
Would it be possible to remount a 3EN series servo in the relevant position ?
Above is a YZF 750 unit fitted to the 2TK subframe.

OOps - I googled the part no in OP ... which turns out to be the CDIwillandrip wrote:The SAC/SUC Usa models use the 3FH- unit

If you can't find a replacement then have a look at using the 3en part (or similar) to rebuild yours. If you try to use a 3en servo in a new position you could need the cables as well which would be harder to find.

Re: 2TK EXUP control unit - repair
Thanks all for your responses so far. It is the ECU (which sits beneath the servo on the 2TK) rather than the servo itself which needs repair. I phoned Brock at BDK today and he thinks it should be repairable so I will send it off and await his verdict.
I have done some more investigations and the ECU's 2TK part number is, according to the CMS NL website, the same as 3EN models so it looks as if a 3EN ECU will work. Happy to open negotiations on a spare unit if anyone has one!

£en cdi's aren't to much money on the bay but they have a Jap speed restriction which needs a signal from the speedo (which your speedo won't have) so it will restrict you to 12,500rpm in all gears.
I seem to remember Kayla having a 2TK cdi but she may have sold it by now

Re: 2TK EXUP control unit - repair
The 3EN1 TCI is interchangeable with the 2TK unit; the 3EN2 is not and will not operate.
The cost of repair is well over that of replacement;2TK units often appear on the bay at circa £35 ish.
The part nos. are not the same.
Go to "racing a 3EN2" topic by Kayla on this forum ; there are pics and description of what does/doesn't work
.
Ignitor units on Fzr motorcycles are of the TCI type and if were referred to as such would save much confusion and timewasting !
