R6 Swing arm into FZR400 1wg
Does anybody know anything about fitting a R6 swing arm into a FZR400 1WG Gen. Or any other swing arm to use a 17" wheel.
Thanks in advance

The R6 has a stacked gearbox so the swingarm is longer without affecting the overall wheelbase. Best to use the basic Yamaha r back end from TRX ThunderCat etc

Re: R6 Swing arm into FZR400 1wg
i have been down your route and live were ther are no fzr's espicially 3tj's.....please take my advise and find a 3tj. im using 17x5.5 on the rear and retains all stock geometry. i would not buld a fzr without a 3tj swinger in the rear. it also happens to look great, puttin a r6 swinger on ther will make it ride like pooh. and is way easier to put a 3tj on. just need to make a sleeve for the pivot axle. if your in europe its easy to find one and cheap. same price as r6. good luck on your ride bro.

Re: R6 Swing arm into FZR400 1wg
Hi guys
iv got the 3en1 1wg with the delta box rear swing arm
i too was looking at upgrading the rear swing arm to the R6 but not so sure after reading this - would the 3TJ swinger be an improvement over my standard one?
cheers Ollie

He did say 3en2 in his other threads didn't he ... questions need to asked
The 3en2 is a deltabox arm, similar to the 3tj. The width is a little narrower on some of them, for the cost you might as well go with the 3tj back end.

Re: R6 Swing arm into FZR400 1wg
I would say + 1 to Boris' reply.
It's the 17" rear wheel that's the benefit; not the arm itself.
The wheelbase is only altered slightly and it's better suited.
There are a couple of 3TJ arms up for auction at present at a reasonable price which is a rarity in itself.
(infact be quick; I might buy them to add to my "central stores" cache)
Make sure you get the seal guard (chain protector) if you go down this route; they are NLA.

Re: R6 Swing arm into FZR400 1wg
cheers for that guys
yes mine is the 3en2 with the delta box swing arm
so the idea would then be to fit the 3TJ swinger with the R6 (red spring) rear shock and a 17"in rim on the rear
the only other idea iv been given was using the GSXR600 SRAD swinger needs %mm removed to fit and the account for 10mm sprocket offset then run the matching GSXR rim with a 180 tyre?
any thoughts or advice?
cheers ollie
