Brake hoses - standard M/C + Gold 600RR calipers

Hey Guys

My bike Failed its MOT - new rear tyre, front and rear brake discs, new rear bearings, Blow in the exhaust near manifold!!

While im ordering new Brake Discs for the front (EBC, not wavy) and pads (EBC HH), i thought would be a good opportunity to change the hoses as well, They are braided but look past it the connections to the calipers as rusted badly.

What hoses do i buy? CBR 600RR/Fireblade/SP1/SP2 onces or vfr 400 ones?

Will VFR400 fit the calipers or will the CBR 600RR/Fireblade/SP1/SP2 fit the VFR400 Master Cylinder

I bought the bike with this conversion already done, so i dont know what the original seller did.

So if i get hose for 600RR/sp/fireblade calipers WILL connect to a standard VFR Master cylinder????

They reason i need to be sure is everyone on here seems to have an uprated master cylinder from a Fireblade or SP.

Thats why i was surprised to see the master cylinder on mines was still standard. Wasnt sure is the previous owner had the hoses custom made or modified is some way.

On that note what would i need to uprate the master cylinder? Is there any benefit over the standard?

the standard is the wrong size for the calipers - it is too squidgy and very very powerful.. not awlays a good thing.

the lines will fit just fine though and if you get another proper sized mastercylinder you'll be right./

Would this be all i need or do i need the handle bar and reservoir as well? is it a straight swap over or any other mods required?

What bike is it and what calipers do you have?

Not all braided hoses fit the calipers, but they will fit all master cylinders. Buy the hoses based on what calipers you have.

I've got a 92 K reg VFR400 NC30

The owner said the calipers where off a fireblade, not sure what year but i thought that the calipers on the fireblades where the same as the SP's and 600rr's?

In regards to getting a new bigger master cylinder do i need the handle bar and reservoir as well?
