Hi all thought a small update was in order, I haven't been able to do anything to the bike as i am still talking to my insurance about the possibility of claiming and buying her back an "engineer" came last monday, took some pics and measured the tread on my allmost brand new tyres. Had a call today from another engineer about taking her away:( to inspect it further to put a value on before and after the disaster. But it starts fine:) so no real electrical problems just indicator and rear light. All the front fairings need repainting, new screen, rear light, undertray and the rear tail panels. There are a few tail panels on eBay but nothing else as far as I can see. The seats are salvageable just need new foam and recovering. Does anyone know of a decent material to use?

Bit of a warning for you

If the bike is taken away, then you buy it back.

Some of the time you may be charged storeage.

There is no reason for the bike to be removed from your place.

If they do take it away make sure that it is returned.

After all it is still YOUR property.

I wouldn't let them take the bike unless they agree to repair it.
I wouldn't send the insurance company the V5 either ;)

Spoke with insurance today they aren't taking it away now, they valued it at £1550 and £550 to buy it back minus £300 excess leaves me £700 to put her right which I think is achievable. Might need a bit of help sourcing rear panels, under tray and back light so if anyone comes across any please let me know.
Cheers in advance bighug

Just struck a deal for two sets of rear panels, pillion seat, coolant res, light and rear brake lever all for £70. Need undertray now and indicators. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get chain & sprockets from and service parts?

Very quick update in case you all thought she'd gone to the great breakers yard in the sky:) answer is no of course that would be sacrilege!
Panels come today just after I left work :( I've waited a good while to get them but this has given me time to improve and clean up lots of other things like brakes, c&s, wheels powder coated, seals, bearings and service. There are going to be a few little more jobs to do no doubt but should hopefully have it mot'd in a week or two, would have it done a lot sooner if I wasn't so busy at the moment but they do say the best things come to those who wait!
Couldn't have got this far without all of your help so thanks guys bighug
I'll get round to doing a little thread when I get time!

Very quick update as the missus wants me upstairs in 10mins, I'm hoping she's getting those sexy undies on that I've only seen her in once since I bought them for her  Got a feeling it's more likely to watch (mock) the apprentice
Enough of my fantasising the panels turned out better than I expected except some cock in work snapped the thin piece off the nose just behind the mirror :o . Also got the seats back from our upholsterer and they are perfect, really nice material too. Got a bit of a problem with indicators not all working but apart from that its a case of fitting chain, torquing up some bolts and fitting bodywork. Want it mot'd Wednesday so I can iron out any niggles ready for a fookin good hoon all weekend
Got to go I'm late for a let down probably, maybe
