Rear hub problem NC35
Hi All,
Just in from what I thought was a great day in the garage if a liitle cold. Got the steering head bearings replaced fitted the newly coated instrument bracket and re-sprayed top yoke.
Replaced the bearings in the rear hub all spinning nicely. Re-fitted, it got the hub nut on and torqued up and hub is frozen.
Bugger thinks I, what have I done wrong, took rear caliper off to make sure it wasn't this ......no hub still locked.
Let off hub nut and hub spins. Think to myself perhaps I over torqued it (200Nm) as per manual so loosen it off, hub spins but as soon as you torque it even over 80Nm it locks.
Used Wemoto bearings and Honda hub nut.
Too cold and knackered to think anymore about it now.... time for a beer.

Bugger me...........no not literally......must be the cold froze my brain, plus the end of a long day, your right, I definitely did not put it back in.
After 35 years of playing with bikes you might think I'd avoid this sort of cock-up.
Dementia has arrived.
Thanks

Sorry, I didn't realise it was contageous

Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.
