To be honest I don't really have one... I haven't been looking long enough to know prices etc, so don't know what I should be expecting to pay? it all depends on the condition etc, but I guess you get what you pay for. What would you say? The chinese ones are all around 300 from what I can see, but I'm willing to spend more if the quality is a lot different...

Some chinese kits are ok, some are not. I think you take a bit of a gamble with them. Original panels are going to cost you more weather you get a complete set in the same scheme(very rare that tho) or collect individual panels and have them painted. Or you could go down the route of TYGA's stock shape panels, suzuka style kit and so on.

Hmm, to be honest I think I'm going to get it ok looking and steadily collect the bits I need then get them sprayed... probably won't be any fancy schemes for the moment though! I was having a look at tygas stock shapes... couldn't find prices on them though, is there a pricelist on here anywhere?

For some reason Jap4 dont list prices anymore, go on tyga's main site and change the currency to GBP to see the prices, your then need to factor in delivery and possible import tax if your unlucky.

Standard colour schemes will always be more desirable

As the Munky says, a lot of it depends on how deep your pockets are and how much you want to throw at it.

The advice you will always get on here is sort the mechanical stuff out before you worry about the cosmetics. Modest money spent on the suspension will give the greatest returns for your buck and a good service will not set you back much, but would be first on my suggested list.

A tidy looking set of Chinese panels already sprayed in the scheme of your choice will set you back about £300 delivered. they will need some fettling to fit but will provide a decent (if not perfect) finish. factor in of course the cost of getting your tank sprayed to match.

OEM panels can be picked up through here or on the Bay in various states of repair and for varrying prices. If you are competant with Plastech / fiberglass you can slowley collect cheap "damaged/repairable" panels, restore them and once you have a full set get them sprayed up.

Deeper pocket would enable buying after market options (Tyga / Silhouette) either pre sprayed or blank that would need spraying.

If you are doing it up to sell, then I agree the original colour schemes may make it easier to sell. However if you are doing it up for yourself to enjoy - then (IMHO) do whatever floats your boat and enjoy it

I will have some type 2 seed chinese panels up for sale soon i bought them less than 6months ago and have only been out on the bike twice, these are the panels that are on the bike and in the latest copy of BIKE mag.

i paid £280 delivered and would be looking at £200 for them a nice saving for something so new reason for sale is i managed to get an original set of panels.

Hmm, Well I think I'm going to go down the Chinese route to be honest! I'm not doing it up to sell, I like it too much at the moment ... Thanks for the information though all food for thought!

Sounds good, I might have to take them off your hands when you're ready to sell them... I'm guessing you've already done the fiddling about to get them to fit, what would you say the quality's like? and any idea how much it would be to get a tank sprayed? Also is it a 2 seat seat unit?

Quality id give them a 7-8 out of 10 very shinny and glossy paint is supprising deep, the mids arnt the greatest fit however that could be down to the fact thats i rushed fitting them, seat panel is standard 2 seat jobby however i had a pillion seat cowl painted and looks wicked. I would chuck that in for free as it matches the seat panels, if you can supply me a replacement to swap so i can get repainted,

As for tank seed tanks are rare and do come up but your more than welcome to copy the lines and dimmensions off my original tank, youd be better off buying one than repainting but its down to availabilty

Theres no scratches and theyre fitted to the bike but winter is fast approaching so will remove for winter service.
