Returning NC30 from TYGA to original shape
Anyone know what else is needed, and what the chinese orignal shape bodywork kits are like? My tyga ones a bit ropey, and not as keen on the shape as i used to be... what will I need to return it back to the original shape? Is it just a matter of headlights and the fairings or is the subframe different? It's the older style RC211V one - pictured... And anybody know what the chinese ebay fairings are like?
Thanks Laurence

Hey laurence
IMHO you have seen the light by comming back to the OEM look
There is a whole thread on Chinese Fairings here (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=13972).
Good luck

Im nearly certain that the Tyga uses a different subframe.
You'll obviously also need a stock undertray too.
Not sure how tyga headlights/fairings are mounted, but prob looking at a headlight bracket & a screen mount too.

Ok, so far i've got -
Fairings (obviously)
Headlights
Indicators
Tail light
Subframe
Is it worth spending the money on this bike (considering I've just put a new second hand engine in, that I know is all spot on) and getting it to look original shape again, or Keeping this bike for a year as its my first bike, keep the tyga fairings just get them looking a bit less battered, selling it and buying another nc30 thats already an original shape that may not have an engine or be in as good nick as mine is under the bodywork?

If your confident you can do the work and get it back in shape then keep it, theres plenty of spares going around which you can refurb as you fit them, ie zinc and powdercoat or paint. The end result will be much better, as long as you dont bodge it

Re: Returning NC30 from TYGA to original shape
Well I managed to ride into the back of a car in traffic and did a put a tear and snapped the fairing on the left hand of the screen and damaged the seatunit and fibreglassed them back up myself and bodyfilled it... primer filled it, got the finish of that good then rushed the final paint and putting them back on because the weather was nice so the paints scratched and chipped where it was soft and slightly orangepeeley in places... I've got plenty of contacts who do powdercoating and painting etc, but i've learnt the bodge lesson and want to use this winter either getting it back to its complete former glory or just getting it nice as it is, can't help but be jealous of all the ones on here though hahaDrunkn Munky wrote:If your confident you can do the work and get it back in shape then keep it, theres plenty of spares going around which you can refurb as you fit them, ie zinc and powdercoat or paint. You could always finish the TYGA stuff off properly when its off the bike and sell it on.

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking... But I don't really want to sell a bike I know is mechanically sound, then buy one off ebay that is potentially ragged?Drunkn Munky wrote:You could always finish the TYGA stuff off properly when its off the bike and sell it on.

Laurance
If you are fairly usefull with your hands and fancy a small(ish) project, I would say return it to its former glory. You will find all the advice and most of the parts you need on here or at least through here.
Fair warning though - these bikes are adictive, and once you start you will get hooked. Remember all those bikes you say you are jelous of on here, well they all started out like you and your bike once.
Welcome and good luck.
P.S. The banter and rapier wit are free

I'm always up for a project, just having the time and money to complete them! I already love it, couldn't want a better first road bike really... admittedly I did want a supermoto (for wheelies) but the nc30 handles so nicely, and its brilliant to see my dad double take in his mirror when he see's I'm still sat behind him after the nice bendy roadsNGneer wrote:Laurance

Next stage then... Chinese fairings, or try source originals? I'm not worried about it taking time, I can keep the tygas on there until i've got the complete set, what do you reckon?
