Re: xivlia's thread of nc30 problems and questions
OKay, i removed my carbs and as you can see one of the cylinders are full of petrol. i removed all my plugs, only the one with the petrol is soaked, the other plugs are dry.
how do i drain this? do i just leave it to evaporate. and i still havent drained that dirty oil in the bike yet, my dad took most of my tools away

oh and also as you can see the cogs and all that stuff is dry, there is not even a trace of oil or lubrication on them.

Get your self a syringe mate & suck the fuel out.
Or alt. turn the engine over by hand to release it into the engine & then drain it with the oil.
I would say, the syringe would be the better option though.
& also, just give the cylinder head internals a little squirt of something to lube it up.

ah okay, well ive managed to find some tools and drained the oil. i have a large syringe i could use that. but would that get rid of all the petrol? isnt there more right into the cylinder chamber?

I've always found that the best way to remove any excess petrol is to use a blow torch, always worked for me...lost a few eye brows along the way though

If you're draining, then, as I say, turn the engine over by hand, so via the side case timing gear, this will open the valves & release the fuel into the engine.
