Re: VFR750 rear wheel con
VFR 750 wheels tend to go for around £70 to £100 plus, depending on condition.
Add onto that postage, modifying the Hub,and painting/powder coating, and it soon adds up!
Then You may have the issue of the chain getting in the way of the tyre, so You may( but not always) need a spacer Kit From Rick Oliver.
A simple 17" Delkevic wheel from ebay or the like may only be £200, will be finished well, will keep the overall same look of the bike, and easier to do!
But thats just my opinion after carrying out several different wheel fitments/configurations over the years.

Smev I remember they used to be on ebay but I can no longer find them and I remember they were around the 150 mark. If you know where I can get one let me know. And Rick does the spacer in the kit also.

Re: VFR750 rear wheel con
would I be right in saying that the 5.5" is NOT suitable?

Re: VFR750 rear wheel con
Thats a great deal from Aly there!!
and as far as I'm aware the only suitable one is the one in the links.
the 5.5" one is great looking but will end up too wide, and need a wider tyre which will more than likely rub on the swing arm and on the sub frame or undertray when the suspension is compressed.

Re: VFR750 rear wheel con
I'm a little confused, as it has been said that the early ones were 5" whilst the later ones were 5.5". There was one post on this thread that suggested that the 90-93 model had 8 spokes with a 5.5" rim, the 94-97 model had 5 spokes with a 5" rim and the 98 - 2010 model had 5 spokes with a 5.5" rim.

5.5" should fit ok, you may have to space the chain over but it should fit
