oil coolers on nc30's

it's good to hear some positive comments guys,some say why bother and there's no point,if honda had of wanted this way they would have made it that way,but i'm glad to hear you guys sparing me on

made a quick bracket up to space out the rad and it look rough and ready but it will hopefully do the job,also cut the piping for the coolant to flow through and i'm trying to work out a good way to hold it so it's not flapping about the insides of the fairing

the way the pipes come out of the exchagner means one pipe is going over the side casing and one pipe is under,not that it'll matter much incse you guys ask why i did it that way and why does it look funky

i'm going to use clamps but i just have to get around to getting them,i'm passing the place tomorrow on the way to the doctors so i can see about getting them then,this isn't the motor the cooler is going on hench i haven't fitted anything and most things are "propped" into place

looking at the pictures again the hose over the casing doesn't look that bad does it ?
i thought it worked well seeing the shape of the pipe coming out of the exchanger...

I was looking at a CBR400 NC29 the other day[1] and noticed it had an oil/water cooler fitted. Anyone know if they're standard to the NC29 and if they fit the NC30/35?

Yep they're standard and they fit, the cbr600 F4's on had them also.

just check druid before you buy what way the pipes come out of the exchanger,some might help and point the right direction and some might make fitting a little difficult
and as far as i know you have to modify the pump housing,i looked for one already done ie vtr firestorm/cbr400/600/900/vfr750 etc none looked like they had the same pump design or the pipes coming out near the right places,so rick was called into action

my exchanger is rotated around as much as it can so the "top" pipe is pointing up and not towards the motor,but i can't complain about it really as mine was a bargain.....oh and make sure you get the centre bolt if you do buy one as this one cost £27.00 odd quid....

help needed

can anyone tell me how the threaded stub for the standard oil filter is held on to the motor please ?

is it just a case of locktight or is it something else ,a kind sole donated me the last pieces so i can get this finished over the weekend (or at least started lol)

i don't want to take a pair of gripes to the filter mount and wreck it to find it was easy pressed out of something

What does the bolt for mounting this exchanger look like? stick us a pic on so we can visualise the problem.

The sandwich plate used the standard stub and the bolt was female one end and screw onto the original stub and male on the the end where the filter screwd onto it.

The stub is just threaded into the lower casing. I remove them using a 20mm nut which I have cut in half to make two thin pieces which I then lock together and wind the stub out - no damage.
