At this point my only suggestion to read the Honda Common Service Manual, I will attempt to upload a copy. In it is an explanation of how the rect/reg works and a test procedure for the battery charging system.
I would be interested to see the doc that describes the functionality of the rect/reg as a linear shunt design. The info available to me indicates that the OEM design is shunt type that shunts off the output of the alternator. The power dissipated in the "shunting SCRs" is what heats up the body of the rect/reg. A FET type rect/reg is also a shunt type but the on resistance of the FET devices is much lower than that of an SCR and therefore the body of a FET rect/reg does not get as hot.

Your supposed to have 50v at 5000rpm.

xivlia unfortunately you are confusing the situation. Initially you said you measured <2 VAC between the three yellow wires with the rect/reg connected and now you claim to have 22-24VAC. It cannot be both unless there is an intermittent connection in the loom between the alternator and the rect/reg.

However, follow all of the tests I specified above at the specified RPM and reply back with those, they are taken more or less directly from the workshop manual.
Follow them and reply with what you have then you'll get an answer to what is wrong.

Maybe everyone should stop posting help. He obviously isn't listening and is doing what he likes to sort the problem. He can learn the hard way, if at all.

im not an idiot...im just new to bikes...have limited amounts of electrical knowledge... the owner i bought from said it never had many problems....and to be honest it never had any charging issues...im thinking i fucked up when i started to jump start from my dads car WHILE the car was running.... and i did this several times. this is why im thinking the charging is fucked.. okay just give me some fucking time. stop calling me an idiot. i will figure this out...

NC30's are KNOWN to have weak charging systems, an old dead battery will easily kill an already dying one off, you may have made it worse by trying to get the bike to charge a dead battery several times but I wouldn't believe any owner who said it's never had charging problems before.
I've jumped bikes from running cars before without problems, it's not wise to let the bike charge up the battery from dead though, especially with an old battery and a weak charging system.
Folllow the steps I posted on page 43 and reply with all the results at the RPM's and settings I specified and go from there
