NC30 brake discs
Hmm ... Where to start
Long story short rather, my fork stem seals got warn and damaged which caused a "leak" onto my front brakes which corroded the pads which, in turn, damaged my discs. Sad story, I know.
Anyway, what's worse is that NC30 discs are not readily available here in RSA and to import new ones is going to cost me about R3,500
Now, what I need to know is, are there any discs that I could use instead? Interchangeable between models or some sort of generic? Because I do not have that kinda money laying around. I need to have her serviced, carbs cleaned and balanced and I need my chain adjusted, etc.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Re: NC30 brake discs
thought South Africa had an abundance of vfr's enough so that you wouldn't have to import stuff like that...but anyhoo you can use discs from cbr400 nc29, vtr1000f, vfr750, cbr600f, cb400sf, cbr900, Honda rs125 and rs250 and also vtr250 I think

Is there a difference between the left and right discs?

Re: NC30 brake discs
Depends which model you get the discs from. Some have a different drilling pattern, some don't. EG the original mega-drill discs are symmetrical, but later discs with fewer holes are different. I can't see it would do anything bad if you used them on the wrong side, though.Dionysus wrote:Is there a difference between the left and right discs?

It's pretty bad manners to bump your post after 1 hour.Dionysus wrote:bump
