Re: oil coolers on nc30's
where did this sandwich plate come from lange and what was it's over all height,ie how far extra does the filter come out from the engine ?
and what sort of filter was fitted in the 1st picture,i know the space is limited and i might have some contact between the filter and header/fan if i try to keep it but yours looks like it has lots of space.

Re: oil coolers on nc30's
The sandwich is 'home made' as I coundn't find a suitable one at the time, but I have later seen them on the net, but I can't recall where at the moment.
I think I have one spare left somewhere.
I'm using OEM oilfilter (allways!).
Forget about the fan. There insn't room for it when using the sandwich.
Using the HRC oil/water solution is also a problem if you still want the fan.
The 1st pic is taken with the rad removed.

Re: oil coolers on nc30's
so progress is being made with this ,
once i figured out that i couldn't buy the bits i wanted i set about asking to get them made, one phone call and Mr Oliver was on the case, and by the sounds out it he was happy to take up the new challenge
this morning i got this email
:D
so that coupled with this

is the start of the cbr oil cooler on the nc30,parts are holding things up at the minute, the O ring for behind the heat exchanger is ordered as is the threaded bolt to hold it on the motor and to hold the filter, the O ring is stocked the threaded place is on back order,my advise is if your going to buy a heat exchanger, buy one with the threaded place with it,the price of the threaded part is enough to put hairs on my chest
oil filters have been measured to see what sort of height the exchanger and filter will be and it's tight but fingers crossed this will all fit in ......
things would have been much easier if i had of just bought an HRC one :)

Re: oil coolers on nc30's
sure thing man,
all thats holding things up is the screw for the middle and some oil so i can do an oil change to go with the filter change
ricks really helping me out with this and to be honest i'd still be stick sourcing the parts for the pump cover if it wasn't for him, cheers rick
more news is the oil filter you said about is shorter than the new honda ones and it's looking like i might be able to fit all this to a road bike with a rad fan,it may not mean much to some folk but this was what i was aiming for from the start...
when i get all the parts together i'll have pictures of everything to go on and it all on and working (hopefully)

on the front of the engine case, it looks like there are casting marks for cooler lines. Has anyone investigated those? Might be simple to drill them out and blot on.
