i have a standard cdi but has an m-max de-restricor unit plugged into that, do i still need to use that if i have the blue motrax speedo converter on the clocks ?? forgive me if this is a twat question as im a bit shit with the electronic side of the bike

I would reckon there's little chance of engine survival if it sees over 18,000 rpm.Neosophist wrote: You won't prevent a mechanical over-rev if you downshif too many.
The rev-limiter will still kick in but if your trying to spin the engine over at 25,000rpm it's going to fail.
At least mine didn't survive these revs on one too many downchanges!

Theres always the chance that a slight overrev will be brought down by the rev limiter... but if it isnt there then you dont even have that hope.
