Titanium Axles for NC29
Hey Chaps,
I' am looking at machining up some new axles for my NC29 racer. And would like to know if anyone else would be interested in this little project.
My plan is to keep the std front axle design (with alloy spacers) but change the rear to a quick change set-up similar to what Ducati run on the late model dual swingarms. ie. Having the axle incorporate a flange or nut so it locks into the adjuster and all you need is one socket/spanner to undo the left nut and then you are able to slide the axle through and out.
Any thoughts?

Not to sure yet but have been checking on material length and cost, obviously the more I order the less it cost.cbr400rrn wrote:What price are you looking at?
To do 4 frt axles I need 960mm @ $36.00 per 100mm < rough calculation on what prices I have so far.

interested in this (and your caliper bracket) just finding it hard to picture what you mean.

I will try and organise a picture or a photo so you can see what I mean.tanuki wrote:interested in this (and your caliper bracket) just finding it hard to picture what you mean.

Yes I am doing front and rear axles in Ti, I have started on the front as it seems a bit easier to machine first.

Yep I'd be interested too. Price might be the deciding factor, but I'm running out of other weight loss options on mine.selexon wrote:Hey Chaps,

Re: Titanium Axles for NC29
If it helps, the front is probably the same as vfr400, certain vfr750, cbr600, etc. as these wheels are all cross compatible. knowing Honda probably loads of other models too. You turn up the strangest things when you look eg the rear axle in a cb-1 is same part number as cbr600f1, which is same as cbr600f1 swingarm bolt, too!
