JE 433 NC30 Piston Kit

Post by magg »

Have noticed a number of posts on this subject but not one from someone who is actually running one as a road bike. Maybe no-one is, in which case what about as a track bike. Realize piston weight is a problem for the race boys and therefore they prefer Cosworth pistons but as road only option thought the increased capacity and CR might give a useful mid range torque increase.

Ive spoke to someone that had the kit fitted to a NC29, not a lot of difference up top but a decent increase in the midrange. Im tempted at the price.

Thanks Drunkn Munky, the answer I was hoping for. Top end power not an issue just after more mid range that can be used on the road. Was the NC29 a road or track bike do you know?

An update that maybe of interest. Have spoken with RO and he has does have big bore NC30s, a 444cc and a 490cc. 433cc version no longer available because the Kawasaki sourced piston rings are no longer available. With the 444cc option there is no need to re-sleeve where as the 490cc requires a re-sleeve and would be more expensive but obviously has more performance.

RO says: " I used a 444 engine for several years in my NC and the 490 is the same only more so - very tractable with serious lumps of midrange for a little bike. It is without question the best NC engine I have ever ridden...".

It is a TTS Performance kit for which I am awaiting a quote although because I will be doing the re-sleeve and engine rebuild over here in oz, it will be different for anyone getting TTS to do the re-sleeve and/or the engine rebuild, etc in the UK. You should drop a line to Paul, paul@tts-perfprmance.co.uk, with your requirements. The more the merrier.

You should also spell "perfprmance" correctly when you address your e-mail and not the way I have in my earlier post.
