NC30/GSXR Alternator Conversion - New Batch Now Available

Post by RickOliver »

Just a quick FYI note to say that Dave the Machinist has been burning some midnight oil and we now have a second batch of NC30/35 GSXR1000 alternator conversions ready to go.

There are six sets available - contact me on 01603 720387 evenings/weekends or email RickNC30@gmail.com

(I`ve updated to a `gmail` address but the old `googlemail` version still works so you can use either)

It`s £200 for the conversion kit, Marcus - you supply the GSXR1000 stator & rotor...

I use the GSXR rotor and it is very good. The bike likes it and it spins up very quickly.

When I installed the GSXR flywheel and rotor the main difference I felt, apart from revving up a lot quicker, was the reduced engine breaking when coming into a corner, so I had to adjust my braking markers fractionally because I didn't have the engine helping me slow down as much. It's not a big difference, but something I had to adjust to on the track.

It's not a cheap upgrade, but certainly worth it for a racebike.

I've just put this conversion on mine a couple of weeks ago and it get a thumbs up from me too.
As already said it makes the throttle response so much sharper and the motor spins up quicker out of the corners and doesn't feel so lazy.
Engine braking is also reduced as well so alittle adjustment in riding style maybe needed.
What I was most impressed with is I gained alittle top end speed, this I know as fact because my brothers nc30 always had the edge over mine and could always pull away from me in the long straights but now he can't.
Just to add my brothers bike has got HRC carbs fitted which he got from japan and this is the main reason for the extra top end speed running no air box and massive jets.
