& a tip that haynes doesnt say.....

BEFORE you start pulling the cable out..
tie a sturdy bit of string to one end of the cable.
pull the cable out from the other end leaving the string in the cable routes place.
now tie the same bit o string to the new cable end.. use the string to pull the new cable back through the original routing..

viola.. solid way of routing sorted, just re-attach new cable.. done..

A littles problem tho.. the part where the cable fits on my bike isnt as same as the pdf u'we put.. it doesnt have two bolts you see.. i'd have to take that whole triangular thing out.. it has 3 , 8mm nuts around the whole thing.. the things is , are there small wheels in it ? If i take the whole metal thing out can i remove the old broken cable and install the new one and stil put the whole thing back together ? the thing is .. i dont know wats inside that metal thing :S
