Post by Jono »

Just wondering whats the standard gearing and chain length for a standard rvf? My chain and sprockets need changing and i quite fancy going up a couple on the rear for acceleration, any recommendations?

well depending on how you ride it etc i went for a 520 chain (£20 chain!) and got the sprockets from B&C for veryy little money, got renthal 40T 15T 14T for £59 delivered and then got an RK Tagasago 520 from ebay for £21 delivered, if you go down the 525 route it starts to get VERY expensive,

the 520 need more maintenance and more oftern,

the 525 less maintenance, cost more, and weigh more too.

Theres always Rick oliver for sprockets, viewtopic.php?f=22&t=26174&p=186008&hil ... er#p186008.

Porndogs right about the 520 chains, 525's are overkill for a 400
