Matching Models with NC29?

Post by Crazy_German » Mon Apr 18, 2011 10:21 pm

Hey everybody.
Does anybody know which Honda models share same parts with the NC29? I´m looking for some special levers from Pazzoracing but they don´t have the NC29 listet.
But I found out for example that the CBR 900 SC33 have the same rearsets as the NC29. I´ve just seen pictures of the rearsets but the look exactly the same.
The big automobile manufactors do it the same way and use as same many parts as possible in different models so maybe Honda has done it with their Bikes too!?
Can anybody help out? Just need to know about the rearsets and about the levers. I know there are aftermarket Levers and Rearsets for the NC29 but I just wan´t that other ones!

;)

for levers, there are some aftermarkets that are specifically for NC29 but most are "generic" levers, or copycats. if you want some good clutch levers, just pick any good levers like titax, rizoma, etc. from any bike models and make sure to buy the same bikes clutch perch. clutch perch are not that expesive.

for brake levers, since youre planning to buy expensive disk brakes why not buying a brembo brake master? there are tons of good brembo brake levers around.

for the rearset, the fastest way is to pick the shortest adjustable rearsets and make a template.

CBR600 F4i levers will fit.

Nearly all honda sports bikes that use non-radial master cylinders use the same levers.

the only way they are a direct fit is to leave one of the stem locking nuts off, if you are not happy doing this (as I was not) you will need to have the RVF stem replaced with the CBR one.

If that's how close it is, couldn't you have a small amount milled off the bottom of the top yoke in the corresponding area?

Hey thanks Cammo for the advice.
I guess I found an other Honda model with the same rearsets: the CBR 900 SC33. If you google "CBR 900 SC33 rearsets" you find pictures of the same rearsets as the NC29 got.
The technical service from Gilles.Tooling said that they won´t fit cause the dimension from the screws that hold the rearsets on the frame would be 1 mm to short, but thank could be an measurement failure of mine.
I´ve just send them a test sheet with all measurements of the NC29 rearsets and it´s easy to make an failure of 1 mm when measure center hole distance.

So i´m going to order one of that SC33 rearsets and when they fit i´ll let you know guys.
