Tony, check out for chain alignment if you get a 30 engine into a 35. Output gearshaft on 35 is a little longer and has wider spacer (+5mm) , so you will need to space the front sprocket to the left on a 30 engine.

I am confident you will achieve this before MOT starts, Tony :peace: Keep going with this project motor... 8-)

I run rvf gears in 30 lump... so didn´t have to make a spacer. You might be ok with a thick washer in the shaft before installing the sprocket. But check for alignment first, if you already have everything installed. cheers

This engine has been put on hold, i managed to source a complete running engine so put that it instead.

I'll check allingment tomorrow, 5mm should be visable by eye

You can easilly check what I´m telling you if you have a 30 and a 35 sprocket cover available. The place where the speedo cable atachs to, is thicker on the rvf cover to allow the nut on the longer gearshaft to fit correctly on the hexagonal part of the speedo cable. I have been looking for some pics of both shafts, but cant seem to find them.

I have both covers, ive actually fitted the 35 cover to the 30 engine. So this means the sprocket nut may not reach the speedo drive then.

Might not reach it or barely, that I amnot sure... haven´t use standard speedos for a while.

Here´s an old pic of a 35 shaft 30 engine. nc35 output shaft is next to C2

Going to have to be a pretty big spacer to fit over those splines.

Whats the story behind using the gears your using?

Sorry , I went to bed early last night.
I think I posted about it in the old forum, but the thing was I was having trouble with my 2nd gear jumping, and couldn´t afford buying new honda gears. I guess this configuration will give me rvf gearing although using vfr gears, but it was not easy because rvf and vfr gears have different cogs. I finally found a cheap rvf gearbox, so did not mess with such a delicate mod, but it can be done.
