Re: nc23 speed restrictor question
Having it unplugged won't affect the bike. All it does is make a connection when the needle goes past ***kph. If the connection isn't there to make, it won't restrict the bike.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

really????? if that was the case then why do people bother cutting the speedo disc or soldering a resistor into the wire when they could just cut the wire and the restriction is gone??

Re: nc23 speed restrictor question
On nc30's when the speedo unit is removed (or the wire is cut) it cuts spark to 2 cylinders after 5000 rpm. I imagine the nc23's have a similar setup being from the same era??jurassicreps wrote:really????? if that was the case then why do people bother cutting the speedo disc or soldering a resistor into the wire when they could just cut the wire and the restriction is gone??
You can get around it on nc30's the same way as bypassing the 180 km/h speed restriction (install resistor in correct wire etc).

Re: nc23 speed restrictor question
Are you removing just the speedo or the whole clock unit?

Just removing the speedo. The rev counter and temp gauge are staying put
