Might help to get a good base for polishing if you must, I recommend sorting any drilling out before you start on the restoration mind.

ACF50 is a very necessary item here in the UK... :grin:

In addition I replaced the flip up pegs with some aftermarket ones with a round headed big bolt that bolts through the back of the rear sets. Makes them fixed which I prefer, easier maintenance by using axle stands under the pegs.
How hard can it be?
