Yes I think it is.

My early model WR's also have this.

I found the brake side of the rearset a bitch to put on my RVF. Had to screw around with the rear brake light cable and I don't understand why they can't make a heel guard for that side either??

Righthandside no heel plate, perhaps to allow some space for your heel :whistle: A heel plate on that side will be rubbish IMHO. I never missed one on that side as my heel can "rest" next to the mastercylinder. Also nice to show off any trick mastercylinder if you have fitted any of course.
