600 supermono

Post by blodnob »

Not sure if this is the right section to post about non V4 stuff. Sure some1 'll let me know if it's not.
Anyhoo.
I started a few weeks ago building a supermono trackday bike. I got an NC30 frame n back end, and RVF frontend.
Stilll waiting for the new (07) CBR,rr rear shock. SP1 front calipers n few other biits from a luverly chaps from here (cheers Pug' ,Geoff)
Engines a bit of a compromise. I want as much power as i can get from a big single. But cash is always the deciding factor on these things.
I ended up with an XR600 for a song. £30 :P .
Got to shoe horn it in some how now.
Needs a bit of a rebuild. But nothing i wouldn't ve changed anyhoo. New rod, bearings piston etc. May big bore it to 660 yet. And a hot cam is on the cards.
Bit of a mix n mach at the moment

Should have the fairing and seat next week.
:P
Gunna take a bit ov time to get all me bits together. It was gunna be my X'mas holiday project as i have all my holl's at Crimbo'. About 6 weeks off.
But cant seem to stop building it now.
I only use garage money to do my little projects. Wifey says wages is for bills. I hate wasting money on bills.

Fancy an under seat exhaust or belly exit.
Seen this on ebay. Sure i can get it to fit somewhere.

Belly exit with the 250 fairing... (If you can fit it in there, it's got to be done!)

Very nice Project dude

Don't forget to take loads of pics and keep a 'diary' or record of what you've done.

If it works out; - people will be asking you about it years into the future (speaking from experience!!!!!!)

As i said it's a 600XR lump. But i think i may go to 680 with a bigbore liner i managed to pik up. It'll go well with the HC Wiseco piston (11.1) and the HRC cam.
I could do with a single carb head. But that'll have to wait
Anyhoo. Al keep yuz updated. Sean
