HRC carb upgrade

I guess you really need to work out what you want if it's a roadbike as well.

Most decent race setups for these bikes won't use any sort of air filter, as soon as you start using a filter you'll be negating some of the benefits of ram air or hrc carb setups IMO. FWIW my race bike (full nc30 hrc carbs) would be fairly unrideable on the road, i.e. it doesn't like to sit at even revs and just wants to rev through.

Is it an option for you to change carb settings for race use? If so I would go for the rvf hrc carb setup. A Rick Oliver replica parts set and a replica hrc airbox lid would be a good start. Then you could always use some sort of filetr and slightly smaller jets for road use.

If you want ram air you can do nearly all of the carb mods yourself but you'll need a ram air box/snorkel and an electric fuel pump. Again, probably not something you would be wanting to use on the road.

I'm really happy with my nc30 hrc carb setup, it gives a good increase in power but probably more importantly it gives a lot better torque curve over an sort of standard setups. It keeps up no problems with the typical 650's here in Aus on the straights.

Cheers for that, sorry for the confusion, I only use it on the track, I have a 07 Tuono R for the road. Does rick do a ram air, air boxs and snorkle?

Also is the snorkle the aluminum inlet thing that comes out over the radiator.

Rick doesn't do a ramair kit. You can get HRC repro airbox lids that go with an undertray, but the HRC set-up never used ramair, so you'd be best to check out after market ramair kits from RLR and similar.

The snorkle is that rubber thing on the front of the standard airbox. Most ramair kits use fibreglass lids that have a longer one that comes down and out the top of the radiator.

Some of the fastest RVFs in UK are made by Mike so he knows his shit.

That's the NC35 HRC airbox lid and will work a treat if you do the rest of the HRC 35 mods (slide springs, velocity stacks, needles, jets, etc.). It's still not overly difficult to get those parts these days (in fact there was a full kit on eBay last week).

But it's not a pressurised ramair set-up, so depends what you're after.

There also known by some as HRC replica boxes so weather or not they can be used with the HRC setup i dont know.
