HRC carb upgrade

Post by Joeblogs »

Hey,

I am wanting to make my nc35 carbs hrc spec.

Is it very easy to track down parts to do this?

Can I make my own parts? I am a engineer and have access to a lot of machinery (does anyone have plans for making the parts)

Let me know if you can help

Cheers

Try this:
http://www.akhara.com/nc30/index.html
This will give you quite a lot of info though it mostly NC30 related.
Rick Oliver (search members here or Google Rock Oliver VFR400) does HRC kits (and lots more) for not bad money.
Are you going the whole hog with ram air or just a carb kit?

No worries JB. Rick Oliver is you're man for the carb kit.
A lot depends how far you want to go and how much you want to spend.
If you do a search through this workshop section you'll find plenty of info.
Try Tyga Performance and jap4performance too.

The NC30 HRC set-up is designed to work with ram/air / open airbox, you can't simply just do the carbs, nightmare to get setup for road use as their designed for track.

Is that NC35 Neo? I suspect Mr Blogs just wants an uypgrade. If you you don't know what the ram air is Joe, don't go there. It's a can of worms from what I can gather.

Ram air is fine, just pay someone who knows what there doing to set it up ;)
NC35 HRC setup uses a air box very similar to ram air boxes and no filter
NC30 HRC setup uses a carb base plate and the under side of the tank as a airbox, again no air filter

What ever setup you go for dont do it half hearted, you must do all the mods.

Thats bascially what I was trying to get at

Unless you do it all it wont work properly, probably even worse and you'll be quite disappointed with the results.

Hey,

Sorry to sound a bit like a idiot, I am aware that the kit usually has ram air, but I was reading elsewhere on the net that ram air only comes into effect with substantial gains at 150kph+, as on the track I only reach these speeds ones a lap (main straight) I cant really see the need for all the hard work, but i am hopping that someone can correct me on this.

Also how do you get around CV part of carbs? it wont like the extra air will it?

Cheers for the feed back

Jb
