When you take the bottom of the carbs off you see the float. The bit you took off is the float bowl, the gaskets are the black rubbers in the top of the bowl.

After the bowls have been taken off a few hundred times they get flattened and leak. Causes bad starting and difficult idle adjustment. When you turn on the ignition the fuel pump will prime, flick the kill switch off/on and see if it takes more time to prime.

That might be a few things mate but they really need to be off & stripped & check for any unusual wear in those two carbs against the other two. Its not hard to take the carbs off & strip them down, make sure you have a good fitting screwdriver for the float bowl screws as I can bet theres at last one that wont want to undo lol. just strip two carbs at a time then you know where things go back.

sounds like the float needles are worn, they are not shutting the fuel off when the floats rise.

Well it could be if the needles are hitting the bottom of the emulsion tubes before they seat properly, take the carb tops off & rubber diaphrams & push the emulsion tubes out a bit & twist them so they sit right back down the same as the other two. That might be the problem.

well fitted carbs overflow prob is fixed but still holds onto the revs when you rev her up but have found something out if i wind the tickover knob right out the bike revs up and down freely but wont tickover do i need the carbs balancing now also i noticed one of the butterflys has been butchered so im after a butterfly and screws if anyone has one spare
