my 2tk wont rev up (will now shes fixed)
well it will start but I need to hold a very partial throttle with choke on a fair bit to get it to stay running but it does eventually die. doesnt matter how I work the choke or throttle it just wont clear itself & rev at all. Super compression, super sparks, & clean fuel going straight to carbs(clear pipe so I can see it getting sucked into them). The carbs are clean had the bowls off & checked the jets etc , one thing I didnt check was the diaphrams, could that be likely? the carbs are some kind of slide oval things but think I might try normal 1wg ones.
Any ideas chaps

Check your valve clearances.
It's a common problem we get at the shop, and 8/10 times if the carbs are ok its that the valves have 0 clearance left.

Nice !!!hipringle wrote:I done a compression check, all nearabouts 140 150 psi!
So sounds like carbs then ... obviously have a look at the diaphrams.
Have you tried this with airbox off and then on ? that will lean / rich the mixture enough to maybe give a pointer to the problem if it's just mixture.
It could be emusion tubes - they can give alsorts of wierd running
Try disconnecting the exup cables and see if that helps

Bout time too

Tried airbox on & off & hand over carbs as well lol, never looked at emulsion tubes tho so tommorow I,ll whip them off & take the tops off first.
I,ll disconnect the exup too just in case, again your input is reassuring I really hope you dont go all vfr on us......
Pastures, loose the 3/4 inch drive sockets & buy a sweet 1/4 drive lol, the carbs I fink are different to normal cv ones, slide carbs (I think), used more in racing but I know very little tbh. (to be honest

As soon as I,m finished window cleaning tommorow I,ll be down the garage
