NC24 has a half width plate like that, theres a spring washer that fits inside it to take up the extra space, it's the first plate in the basket (closet to middle of engine) then It also has 8 friction plates.

My clutch slipping was due to worn springs

I think the nc24 uses coil springs?

The nc30 uses diaphragm springs, they can wear out, but friction plates usually do well before the springs.

I have always run an extra spring (4 springs instead of the standard 3), better clutch action but might be bit hard on your hands if it's a daily rider.

aah.. yes it does! New ones are quite stiff... heavy duty ones are a ballache on your hands :D

EBC is fine to use. Make sure to check the steel plates for any signs of warping or overheating also as they can cause poor clutch action.
