Ebc Friction plate set.

Post by rider4life »

I bought a set of friction plates on ebay. He said they were new and boxed just been sitting in a garage for a year but he oiled them so they wouldnt get damp. the ebc code is ck 1250 and inside there is 8 plates and 1 half width plate. They dont look 100% new for a start. im sure theres only 8 friction plates in a vfr. i might be wrong. Helpp

I've used EBC before and never seen a half width plate like that...Why don't you call EBC and ask?

Oiled them so they wont get damp?

Surely being slightly damp wouldnt damage them?

I hope not anyway as I have a new set sitting in my garage!!

thank you. I wanna get this sorted as the clutch slip is getting quite bad when the bikes cold. once it warmed up to running temperature its not so bad.

NC24 has a half width plate like that, theres a spring washer that fits inside it to take up the extra space, it's the first plate in the basket (closet to middle of engine) then It also has 8 friction plates.

I'd say there NC24 plates in the wrong box.

Have you measures your old plates?

My clutch slipping was due to worn springs

Havent had the old clutch out yet due to me needed the bike to commute. He did say they were nc30 but it looks like they are nc24 plates. Looks like im gonna have to get a new set and some new springs.
