nc 30 carb balancing vacum points

hi all going to have a go at balancing the carbs on my vfr nc 30 got myself a set of gauges but can,t find where to connect the vacum pipe for the front right inlet manifold,there do not seam to be a blanking screw for that manifold,if that is right where do i connect the 4th gauge to,or do i only use three can anyone help please

There is a little brass screw in each inlet. should be obvious....

The only one I had trouble locating was on cylinder #4 (front right) as it seems to be in a diff position but from memory it's the easiest to get to. To be safe I'd make sure you screw your adapters in when the engine is cold and let it cool thoroughly before you remove them or you can end up stripping the tread and then you'll be in a whole world of shite.

the one by the thermostat? look on the corner of the cylinder behind it

Agree with neosophist....it should be near/behind the thermostat unit (did my NC35 recently, I found it after a few minutes of searching

) PS: Have you got a haynes manual?

nice one guys found it can get on with the balencing now thanks again ,does it matter weather the air box is on or off and the plate that holds the trumpets is there any tips as to how to get that on to the carbs nice and easy,

It will be best to balance the carbs in the setup that the bike will be run in (airbox on etc).

Getting the carb top plate on can be a pain. It helps to loosen the screws that hold the 4 carbs together (on the ends) so you can jiggle them a round a bit.

wish i knew that when i removed that plate once,(first time i removed my carbs) i nearly threw my carbs at the wall trying to get that c*nt back on

then i realised you dont need to remove it to take the carbs off,,,,doh!!

I did that too. Seemed logical to remove it... at the time...
