FAO people who run nc35 carbs on nc30's set-up help needed !

Post by royster81 »

just got the hold of a set of nc35 carbs to put on my nc30 and was wondering what settings people are using on theirs ?

the bike will have a standard airbox, standard air filter and has a race half system, at the minuite the carbs have 115's all around and i was thinking this is got to be somehwere near what i need, plus how many turns in on the A/F screws,if i can free them up !
cheers

what advantages will nc35 carbs offer your vfr? i was under the impression that the larger nc30 carbs were generally prefered?

The RVF carbs are newer, nicer and seem to have a better response. The larger bore NC30 carbs might well be the better choice for WOT running but for the road riding masses the RVF carbs are great.

You know my setup Rhory..nowt like most..so I'll not bother boring you with it :ugeek:

ok i finally got the carbs into a possition where i can fit them ,but one more question, A/F settings, 1 5/8 turns OUT or IN ?

i was under impression they were the opposite to vfr carbs but haynes (book of lies) says they are the same direction,

vfr 2 turns out
rvf 1.5/8 turns out

can someone confirm,i don't wantto build this all up again to find out i've fallen at the last hurdle....

They do work backwards but you still take the base setting from fully seated as otherwise you'd have to unscrew the pilot screw :)

Start from 1.5 and go from there :)

Do your carbs have the round bottom sliders in them too?

i'll put the at the honda base setting a go from there, and no nc35 carbs don't have rounded slides.
