help needed gsxr '87
hello everyone, ive just picked up a 87 gsxr 400 for my first bike, ive got a month till my test so im just giving the bike a good going over. the previous person had a go at spraying the fairing pannels himself and they look okay from like... 20 meters.. pretty much all the pannels are cable tied on in some way or another,
So basically i was wondering which years of bike i should look out for, fairing wise. baring in mind all i want is the rear fairing which surrounds the seat and brake light.., to keep things cheap im going to get a bracket made for the headlight and not bother with the rest of the pannels. thanks !

Re: help needed gsxr '87
thanks for the replies mate, it was actually that website where i realised the back end of the '86 and '87 gsxr were very similar, looking again it actually looks like the whole bike is the same bar exhaust and headlight arangement. ive found a breaker online who had some rear and mid pannels for 86/87 gsxr so ive emailed asking how much he wants..
the reason im going for a streetfighter is mainly to keep things cheap, im not going to buy all the pannels and have them sprayed, would cost too much and then i would probibly chuck it down a road anyway... haha
yeah so the plan is to get hold of the rear and mid fairing, get them prepped up for spraying (primered), and get the tank done while im at it... then get a proper job done.. the guy who last had it has sprayed it really badly.. really thick coats which have cracked to show a nice shade of yellow underneath..
