VFR 400 NC 24 Conversion 17'' Wheel

Post by XL-Twin »

I asked this Question before but no one answered :

Is it possible to fit any 17 '' as rear and front wheel ?

Do i have to change the swingarm from NC24 and use a NC30?
And could i also use the NC30 forks in the NC24 frame ?

Has anyone with an NC24 ever done this before ?

Howdo,

You cannot exchange the swingarms without some modifications.

Practically nothing can be used on the nc24 from the nc30.

Did anyone do it before ?
Some modifications would be ok....but not to much !

Do i have an chain off set when use the NC30 swingarm ?
I now how to fix a chain off set a a normal dual arm but not with a one armed swingarm !

It is not possible to use a wheel of the vfr RC 36 for example is it ?
Is has the same mountings like NC24 BUT the swingarm would be to small right ?!

THe one with four stud is also used in the ''bigger'' bikes like the RC36 !
But that dont make sense in a RVF cause you have to change the swingarm or atleast the hub tu geht a 1/2 '' bigger wheel !?

Do you know where to finde this picture ?!

You can fit, with a hub modification, the old style 5 spoke 750 rim to the NC30 and 35.

May be also possible to do the same modifications and fit the 750 rim to the NC24.

NC24 is a 4 inch rim as standard isn't it?

If I owned one I would make the best of what I had already rather than trying to change it for NC30 bits.

As it happens, I have an NC30.. 8-) So I am sorted already

Normally the NC24 has 3,5.
So i guess the swingarm is to small for a lager wheel!
Pherhapsanother hub will fit a bigger rim BUT i thing i have an off set then !?

The NC24 was for free and i have no money for another bike so i thought to modiefie it would be a good way !

Interesting pics there Spike.

I doubt any racer is going to fit a 3.5 inch rear rim. I'll guess that this is a 750 rim and that the dude has modded the hub the same as Rick has done but for the older wheel rather than the newer 5 spoke.
