What to look out for?
Alright everyone, I'm thinking of finally pulling the trigger on a grey import 400. Been lurking on here for a while and it seems like a minefield! So, I thought I'd start a thread for newbie buyers like myself. What are the key things to look out for when buying a greybike, especially the older models?
Specifically, I'm interested in:
* **Common Problems:** What are the typical issues with these bikes that I should check for during an inspection? Any particular years or models to avoid?
* **Paperwork:** What paperwork is essential? What should raise red flags? I've heard stories about incorrectly registered bikes causing headaches down the line.
* **Spares Availability:** How easy is it to get hold of parts for these bikes? Are there any parts that are notoriously difficult to find?
* **Price:** What's a reasonable price to pay for a decent example of, say, a CB400SF or a CBR400RR?
Any advice from experienced greybike owners would be greatly appreciated! I'm keen to get my hands on one of these classics, but I want to do my homework first. Cheers!.
