Won't Rev
Hi Guys, just finished the resto and insured the bike and took it for an MOT - perfect, straight through... However, the thing wouldn't rev above 5000 rpm and wouldn't go above 40mph, any suggestions please (it did pop and backfire when trying to start the thing). Thanks, Andy

Re: Won't Rev
Not sur regarding your bike, but NC30 has max speed limiter fitted to speedo. Ignition unit tests for its existance at ignition on, If the unit not connected/functioning the max rpm is set at approx 5000rpm.

Re: Won't Rev
I had similar issue but my NC29 wouldn't go over 11k rpm. I've removed the fuel filter so the hose is going from the fuel tank straight to the fuel pump and then carbs. I also replaced the jets with bigger ones and I cleaned the carbs quite well. When the bike is cold won't go over 11k but when is proper warm it goes up to 16k. Brand new air filter as well.

Re: Won't Rev
Hi Guys, thanks for the assistance and advice, I've had the carbs cleaned, apparently the bike had been stood before I bought it, and the old petrol had 'solidified' in the jets, runs fine now. Thanks again, Andy
